Went to the Open Mic at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs last Thursday with my friend Jamie. We did a couple tunes – Gotta Have You by the Weepies & Blackbird. Chris was sweet enough to come listen. I will say that we got the full “open mic” experience complete with some maniacal laughter, dwarf jokes, and your garden variety insanity in musical form. There should be a hotline for those who still have pent up feelings even AFTER they’ve performed. Jamie and I were the only first-time performers, which put the pressure on ;) but i think that we brightened up the days of at least a few who were previously on the verge of drooling.

I am definitely writing music now – in this day of dysthymic living. but gotta continue this train of thought tomorrow or later tonight – just got a couple of calls, both of which are pulling me in the direction of downtown on this crisp but soggy night before Thanksgiving. I am just guessing that this night will also double as a 4.5 year high school reunion.
